Post back here with specifics regarding the following and I'll try to help you through this one:

• hard disk drive makes and models
  
• the makes and models of any other IDE/ATAPI drives in the system
  
• the current configurations of all existing drives (prior to new drive installation) as regards IDE channel (Primary or Secondary) and drive designation (Master or Slave)
  
• the desired drive configuration following new drive installation (as in item above)
  
• system mainboard make and model
