I read the posts here and went ahead to install the offerring as presented with an update. Intending to uninstall again to get rid of the tool bar.
Lo and behold.....on about the third screen of the instal wizard the "great" ask toolbar offerring is presented . Here it can be chosen to accept or NOT. I unchecked it and the install went ahead just like a real one.

Without the tool Bar.
