166572, non web based free email Posted by _Jan_, Sun Nov-24-02 10:00 PM
Hi. Does anybody know of a non web based free email program I can try that is easy to set up, and works on xp? I use oe, but can't use my other identity since sp1. I tried eudora, and it has cydoor-no thanks. I tried an older version of eudora I used years ago that I liked, but couldn't get it to work on xp. I need one that I can keep my address, and make the default while I am using it. Thanks for any ideas,

Hello Jan,
There is a fix, along with some others, for the SP1 OE Identities problem, available from Microsoft.
Details of fix and get it from download page.
This info from the What\'s New of Inside Outlook Express. An excellent source for all thing OE,

Hi Jim. Thanks loads!!!! I have avoided sp1 after my first download of it and had the mail problem--I got rid of it. Have re downloaded it again yesterday and set up eudora. I have the patch now-will go try to re-set up my other identity. I'll post back.

Jim. Thanks so much! I now have sp1, and my 2 identities. If I never hear the phrase sp1 again I can die happy!!!! Goodbye eudora and cydoor too!
