Tuner cards are designed to allow you to watch TV on your computer. not to send NTSC video to a TV. For that you need a Video card with a TV out jack.

Thanks Shelly. does that mean I will be able to use my present card icw a new tv out card and link the 2 together to the TV.
What im trying to do is replace my vcr, seeing as the tuner card has time shifting etc.

If thats the case any recommendations for a tv card?

What video card do you have? A lot of newer cards come with dual VGA (or dual VGA/DVI) and S-VHS/S-Video out. Worth checking

Ant,

Most recently, my son tried many different TV capture cards and liked the Adaptec Video Oh! USB 2.0 Media Center best.

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/product/proddetail.html?sess=no&language=English+US&prodkey=AVC-2310&cat=%2fTechnology%2fVideo%2fVideo+Capture+and+Creation

It also has a video recorder for timeshifting with remote control.

The tuner card is not the issue. I just need a way of getting the tv input to a TV set. And as i have a tuner card already, Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe, i dont really wish to purchase another and was considering just a video card with tv out but not sure if it would work or not.

What everybody is telling you is ... you can't with that card.

Plug an antena into the TV.

You missed the point as well

I have tv tuner.
Used as vcr with time shift etc
would like to watch recordings on tv instead of on monitor.
I know i cant do it with the card i have.

The Q is how to get the video signal from the pc to a tv?

I'd use a cable that fits the new card you are going to have to buy

A video card with a TV output will send whatever you see on your monitor to a TV that has a video line input (most large screen TV's have at least one).

Most ATI based video cards have a video output.

I prefer ATI based video cards. Which one depends on what you use your computer for, and your budget. Nearly all ATI cards, in all price ranges, have a TV out jack.

Why would anyone spend $128 on a converter, when you can get a video card to do the job for $50 or less?

Shelly

That price is NZ $.

<Anyone have an idea how i can use this card to give me output to a std large screen tv?>

The link was intended as a reference to show there is a way, using his existing card as requested.

I used one of these items on a job a couple of years ago where it fulfilled the job requirements, and a vcard exchange was inappropriate, although I don't remember why.
I think it was being used on a system that wasn't the clients, and he wanted to take the mod gear with him to plug into other systems.
I do remember that the signal was to display on a huge back-lite TV about 20 mtr from the source. (a hard ask as the shielded cable cost half as much as the item).
What I do remember very well is that he didn't complete payment for the job and I ended up with some very nice audio/vid cable that I didn't need (still got it).
