When you've gotta go, you've gotta go. But you can't always, at least not in Lawrence, N.J.
Some middle school students are avoiding soft drinks, water and other liquids during school hours for fear of an urgent need to answer nature's call.
Under a new policy at the Lawrence Middle School, seventh- and eighth-graders are allowed to leave class for the bathroom a maximum of 15 times a month. As a result, some are afraid to use up their bathroom passes too quickly and end up with a full bladder and nowhere to go.
Guns don't kill people. Husbands who come home early kill people.
It's easy to get a doctor's excuse to get by things like this. Since kids have to get physicals you just have the doctor write one then. Any doctor should write one because holding it in isn't a good thing.

Man that's bad news. Heh can't they find something of more merit to monitor than the amount of times a student urinates. What is happening when this is important. wait till the first use floor in classroom then watch lawsuits.

How long has it been since you guys have been in school? It's about time school officials have done something about this. Kids for YEARS have been using the bathroom excuse to get out of class. I remember when I was in school the same people everyday had to go to the bathroom. Some did it to cut class, smoke weed, or who knows what else. I don't necessarily agree with limiting the amount of times one can go to the bathroom. But at least school administration is doing something about the problem.

Not long enough. I had the same type of crap (or lack of) happen to me. Stomach problems had me going pretty regular. Doctors and parents got the teachers to back off some. But not before those teachers got a 3rd grader to figure out that eating breakfast or much of a lunch was not going to happen anymore. Yeah, sure is a good thing the schools decided to step in and put a stop to kids and their crap.
